[#19] a day at the military base (forward operating base)

Military bases are big…

while I originally wanted to make different types of bases, I had to admit to myself that I can’t do them justice in the sizes I love to play in. Especially because I wanted to have something connected that allows players to turn an entire base completely upside down. And so I decided to make one type, but in really big: a forward operating base. And even though it’s probably small for a real base, I think it’s the biggest map I’ve ever made.

In any case, I hope you will have a lot of fun playing the map(s) and / or creating your own military installations!

One huge forward operating base [96×81] divided into 6 digestible [48×27] parts and located in a desert and foresty environment:

  • 1: Entrance area [48×27]

    • with a tower, gate, parking space and sleeping tents

  • 2: Howitzers shooting area [48×27]

    • with howitzers, parking space and sleeping tents

  • 3: Medical Tretament [48×27]

    • with a container building containing a first aid building, a traing ground, shooting range, tower and storage shed

  • 4: Dining Area [48×27]

  • with dining tent, kitchen tent, storage tents and sleeping tents

  • 5: Helipad [48×27]

    • with a helipad and open area

  • 6: Headquarter [48×27]

    • with a headquarter building (containing a small workshop, brig, interrogation room, small kitchen, drone control rooms, communication room, toilets and shower, war room, officers quarters, small med bay, armory, maintenance and storage),

    • + a water tower, storage shed, a tower and sleeping tents

 And for all those crazy enough (or with good enough computers and internet connection) there´s also the complete map which connects all the maps together and creates an

entire FOB area [96×81]:

All maps come with

  • 2 different environments: desert & forest

  • rooftop versions [when applicable] – also as transparent overlay variants

  • additional rooftops for the tower [when applicable]

  • variants with and without cars [when applicable]

All maps come as

  • day and night versions

  • 300 & 100ppi JPG files with and without grid and

  • 300ppi PDF files with grid

  • 300ppi gridless webp files (not the complete one)

  • 300ppi gridless webp files for the transparent overlays

  • The big map comes as 100ppi gridless webp file and overlays

+ combat helicopter tokens for more gameplay options

Around 85 individual Assets in different variations – over 1150 in total.

Each of these come as

  • 100ppi PNG files

  • 300ppi PNG files

+ The Dungeondraft [Creative GMs] Pack:

– including all assets as Dungeondraft objects and additional Dungeondraft specific content – such as paths, textures, colorable assets and more

pink = colorable

The Foundry VTT Map pack:

including:

  • pre-configured walls, doors and windows

  • door sounds

  • regions for weather suppression

The “military base” Prefabs & Rooms:

over 650 Prefabs in total with the following themes:

artillery – barrier walls – crates – portable toilets – sleeping cots – Tents: roofs, base, sleeping, storage – training area – training parcours

Most Prefabs come as a “normal” and “dirty” Version.

10 different room types – 59 Rooms in total

each of these come as 100ppi & 300ppi PNG files

These are integrated with all the Assets and things from the creative GMs in the Dungeondraft [Thorough GMs] file – so you have all assets, rooms and prefabs in one file.

Most Rooms come as a “normal” and “abandoned” Version.
